Within the context of EGYPTAIR's leadership role in the aviation industry within Africa and under the guidance of the Ministry of Civil Aviation and EGYPTAIR Holding Company ,Pilot Bassem Gohar, Chairman of EGYPTAIR CARGO stated that the company hosted the AFRAA Air Freight Committee Meeting for the first time, EGYPTAIR CARGO also plays a key role in the exchange of information between the member airlines with regards to the latest developments in air transport in Africa, and is actively contributing to the implementation of an integrated strategic plan to consolidate cooperation between member companies and to activate the Union's role in the African continent to face challenges and compete in the global air transport industry.
The seventh meeting has been held in EGYPTAIR headquarter at Cairo led by Mr.Hisham Elewa, VP Cargo Operation Sector and Chairman of Air Cargo Committee of AFRAA. It is worth mentioning that the AFRAA union was established in 1968 in Accra, Ghana and is located in Nairobi, Kenya. It comprises 37 Airlines and EGYPTAIR is considered one of the founding fathers of the union.
