EGYPTAIR Cargo takes part in transporting meat cargos from Chad to Egypt.
“Out of the national carrier’s social responsibility, it has contracted with a major Egyptian company specialized in supplying chilled meat to transport 55 tons of refrigerated meat from N’Djamena to Cairo on board its A330-200 aircraft,” said Eng. Yehia Zakaria, Chairman and CEO of EGYPTAIR Holding Company.
He also confirmed that all necessary facilities were provided for the arrival of the cargo and a competitive price was provided for the cargo to guarantee offering it at suitable prices to the Egyptian consumers.
On his part, Capt. Gasser Hussein, EGYPTAIR Cargo chairman and CEO said that the first cargo arrived at Cairo International Airport on Monday, March 13th, where coordination was made with all concerned parties and the necessary refrigerants were provided to ensure the safe arrival of the cargo. He added that two regular flights are scheduled to operate weekly from Chad to Egypt to transport the rest of cargos until the end of the holy month of Ramadan with a total of about 600,000 tons
It is worth mentioning that EGYPTAIR Cargo recently received a new B737-800SF cargo aircraft, after converting it from a passenger to a cargo aircraft, so that the company's current fleet consists of four air cargo aircraft.
