EGYPTAIR Cargo signed a new contract with DHL Aviation to serve its cargo flights through EGYPTAIR cargo complex in Cairo. Engineer Yehia Zakaria, Chairman and CEO of EGYPTAIR Holding stated that this new contract is a new success for EGYPTAIR Cargo that contributes to enhancing its fleet capacity to meet the huge growth in demand for air cargo around the world, despite the difficult challenges facing the global aviation industry.
“The air cargo sector is witnessing significant growth during this period that EGYPTAIR has signed several contracts with major companies operating in the air cargo field to be able to compete through global challenges in the aviation industry,” he added.
On his part, Capt. Gasser Hussein, chairman and CEO of EGYPTAIR Cargo, said that the company provides its air freight services to about 36 foreign airlines through cargo complexes in Cairo, Borg El Arab, and Luxor. He confirmed that these new contracts are the result of the excellent services provided by the company to its customers and a proof of its ability to meet the desires of major international companies in the air cargo field, stressing that this contract allows both parties to have a mutually strategic partnership at the cargo service level.
DHL Aviation is one of the leading airlines specialized in air cargo, especially in express mail. It began operating its first cargo flights through the EGYPTAIR Cargo complex in Cairo in August 1st with two cargo flights per week using B767 wide-body aircraft from and to Bahrain with a payload of about 50 tons for each of the outbound and return flight. Bahrain is the headquarters of DHL Aviation's HUB in the Middle East and from there a network of flights extends to Europe, Asia, Australia, and the Americas.
